After a really challenging year, I am very grateful to be sharing this Friday message with you.
Scott’s emergency heart surgery was followed by several months of painful recovery. Today he is feeling stronger than he has for years. We are so fortunate that he made it to the hospital when he did and that we were blessed with the incredible surgical team at Mission Hospital that saved his life.
Late in August, he was finally up for a trip to visit our daughter and friends in Colorado. Although he was moving slow, I saw a light in his eyes that was unmistakable when he was back amongst his closest friends and with family.
He kept saying, “I’d give anything to move back to Colorado.”
Me, being me, my response was “Great, let’s move!”I love my life in California, but I love my family more. The reality is that Scott has been gifted with a few more years, but we are clear that each day is very precious and we just don’t know how much time we have with him.
For this Friday’s Free Gift, I’m grateful to be able to share with you a message from a man I adore, that arrived in my inbox at just the right time.
“You can’t overcome the struggle if you hate the struggle…Engage with the struggles and crappy situations of life as an opportunity to challenge yourself to be present, to be better, to grow.”
This year has been one of the hardest I remember, yet it many ways it has been one of my most rewarding.
I have witnessed an incredible compassion and relatedness between my family members. We have all been blessed by an outpouring of love from our community.
Brendon shared a video this week that I found personally inspiring. I love this man, and I love his leadership. If you find the message valuable, I encourage you to follow him online and treat yourself by reading one (or several) of his books.
Sending you much love and best wishes for a wonderful holiday,
